I knew from the beginning that I would be drawing and designing for a living. I just wasn’t sure how I could turn my love of drawing and design into a career. Sound super cheesy? Probably. But it’s true.
Ever since I was little I have had a true obsession with construction toys. With them I could design the environments where the stories that I invented for the characters took place, and each day they were different.
But my love of design sometimes affected someone else along the way. And it is that my grandfather, who was a handyman, followed my lead and did not allow ideas to remain on paper. Together (on many occasions alone, although I provided moral support) we built those inventions, making me see from an early age that ideas can become reality.
I graduated in Architecture from the ETSAB of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, in Barcelona. I toyed with the idea of immersing myself in the world of business and enterprise by pursuing an MBA as a post-university career path, but my passion for design eventually steered me in a different direction.
After finishing my Architecture studies, and thinking about it a lot, I packed my bags again to return to the city where I had lived for the last few years during my studies, Barcelona. Over the next year, I set out to pursue postgraduate studies in Residential Interior Design and Interior Design for Hotels at ELISAVA, where I obtained complementary knowledge to that of Architecture that helped me to have greater control over the projects and to have specific knowledge of a prolific sector on my home island, the hotel sector.
At university I also discovered another of my passions: computer graphics. What is commonly known as 3D or CG (Computer Graphics in English). With them I came to have tools to be able to represent everything I imagined, which opened up a new world of possibilities.
After university, I returned to Mallorca and worked in several studios carrying out residential projects for clients with high purchasing power, luxury single-family homes mainly. Being small studios allowed me to be in close contact with all phases of the project, having to learn to function under different responsibilities.
In parallel, I had the opportunity to renovate a family home, where I discovered my true passion, interior design and renovations.
I noticed that I was missing something. I wasn’t sure what my next step should be, so I struck out on my own. That is why he created Embat Studio, an Architecture and Interior Design studio in Mallorca.
Now, I love being able to help my clients make their dreams come true by transforming their homes into homes that tell their story. Homes that are a reflection of who lives there and how they live. Homes that inspire them and fill them with energy to face the day to day. Homes where you can create the happiest memories with family and friends.
My clients are both local and international, so I’m lucky not only to have a job that I love, but also to have one that allows me to meet extraordinary people, with different histories and cultures.
