A Reimagined Mallorcan Home:
Where Light and Sea Breeze Flow Freely

This renovation of a traditional double-gable roof house breathes new life into a historic structure. The transformation creates an open, airy space that invites in the sea breeze and celebrates the tranquil beauty of the island.

Challenge & Vision

This home had a solid architectural foundation but felt compartmentalized and closed off. The goal was to open it up, creating a large, seamless day area that embraces the views and allows natural ventilation to flow through every corner.

Opening Up the Space

Walls were removed to merge the main living areas into one expansive, breathable space. Large openings frame the views, dissolving the boundary between indoors and out.

Letting the Breeze In

Strategic openings were designed to create a natural cross-ventilation effect, allowing the sea breeze to move freely through the home and reducing the need for artificial cooling.

Embracing Natural Light

Natural light was maximized through carefully positioned windows, creating an ever-changing play of light and shadow throughout the day.

Material Palette. Honoring Tradition with a Modern Twist

The renovation respects Mallorcan tradition while introducing modern sensibilities. A palette of natural stone, exposed wood, and soft, neutral tones ensures a timeless elegance.
